Flyers Beat Penguins 4-2

The Flyers first trip to Pittsburgh was a welcome trip for a team that has been through a big week with the front office changes.

Andrew MacDonald had 3 assists, Dale Weise had a short handed game winning goal and Jake Voracek sealed it with an empty netter as the Flyers won 4-2 in Pittsburgh.

Sidney Crosby opened the scoring less than a minute in with a goal for Pittsburgh. Soon after, Wayne Simmonds dropped the gloves and tussled with Jamie Oleksiak. This shifted momentum back to Philly and Travis Konecny tied the game at 1 with a breakaway goal.

Pittsburgh took the lead again in the second on a Riley Sheahan goal, but the deficit barely lasted a minute as Jake Voracek found Claude Giroux for the tying goal.

From there on, it was all Flyers as Dale Weise would score the shorthanded winner and Voracek found the empty net late in the third.

Anthony Stolarz stopped 30 of 32 shots and continues to show he might be a viable option going forward.

The Flyers return home on Thursday.
