Goalie Swap: Flyers get Cam Talbot for Anthony Stolarz

Just after midnight, the Flyers swapped goalies with Edmonton sending Anthony Stolarz for Cam Talbot.

Talbot has been mentioned to the media as a guy who has a strong connection to Flyers phenom Carter Hart. He comes in as a clear 1B to Carter Hart who will be a veteran mentor.

From a straight talent perspective, Talbot’s career .915 indicates he’s slightly above league average in term of talent.

However, his decline year-on-year in Edmonton from .919 to .908 to .893 over the past 3 seasons on the Oilers, is a bit concerning.

All in all, he’s at worst a backup for Hart and at best a true 1B who returns to form coming out of a bad situation in Edmonton
