2018 Philadelphia Union slate released

We take a look at the newly-released schedule for this year’s boys in blue.

With the MLS SuperDraft right around the corner (both literally and figuratively) and training camp starting in two weeks, the MLS season is ramping up once again. The Union’s full schedule was released yesterday, and here are some takeaways and points of interest from it:

  • They kick the season off March 3rd at home against D.C. United in what’s sure to be a frigid affair.
  • Five of their first seven matches are at home, so if they don’t start fast, they may be buried before May.
  • They face the Red Bulls for the first time this year on May 26th in Harrison, NJ.
  • They play Los Angeles FC for the first time ever on June 30th in LA.
  • On October 6th, they host Minnesota United FC for the first time ever.
  • Eastern teams they face three times: New England (twice at home), Columbus (twice away)
  • Western teams they host this year: San Jose, Real Salt Lake, Vancouver, LA Galaxy, Sporting Kansas City, Minnesota United FC.
