When Same Hinkie drafted him with the 12th overall pick back in June, it was understood that the Sixers would be waiting a decent amount of time before Dario Saric would be playing in Philadelphia. As the Sixers sit at a franchise-worst 0-16 start, the 20-year old Saric is over in Europe showing them that he’s worth the wait.
The 6′ 10” forward was honored with a selection as the Euroleague MVP for the month of November. Saric is the youngest winner in the 11-year history of the award.
Saric averaged 15.5 points and 7.75 rebounds per game in November for his Turkish team, Anadolu Efes. He made an impressive 61% of his shots from the 2-point range during the month.
Saric will remain in Europe for at least the next two seasons. The organization is obviously hoping that by the time Saric comes to the States he will be joining a budding Sixers roster that will be ready to contend for a playoff berth.
