After an eventful first few hours into the Free Agency frenzy, the Eagles announced their first official signing. Eagles and former Seahawks cornerback, Byron Maxwell agreed to a six-year deal. The parameters for the deal were revealed a few days ago, but it could not be made official until 4 p.m. this afternoon.
The deal was an important one for the Eagles as they seek to fill the void at the cornerback position. It’s one that the team has had a difficult time finding success with since the 2011 Free Agency period.
The Eagles are far from done in retooling their secondary, but the addition of Maxwell is certainly a step in the right direction.
