About a minute into the new NFL year, the Eagles and Rams agreed to a deal. The proposed deal would have the Eagles sending Nick Foles to the St. Louis Rams for quarterback, Sam Bradford and a second-round draft pick. ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter first reported the trade:
The news came as bit of a surprise considering there wasn’t much speculation that the Eagles and Rams were in talks about a deal. However, the Eagles fan base was aware that Chip Kelly wanted to improve at the quarterback position and Nick Foles was not a part of those plans.
Sam Bradford is coming off a season-ending ACL injury last season. Nick Foles had 6,753 passing yards, 47 touchdowns and 17 interceptions in his three year run with the Eagles.
