Flyers Drop 5-3 to Islanders

Playing on the road in the second half of a back to back, the Flyers dropped a 5-3 decision to the Islanders.

Jake Voracek scored early on a perfect pass from Travis Sanheim and Travis Konecny had a deflection goal which were the only two real highlights for the Flyers while the game was competitive. Carter Hart had a game to forget, being yanked for Brian Elliott. Hart wasn’t the only Flyer with a poor night as the entire defense struggled all game.

Down 5-2, Elliott made several 10 bell saves. Claude Giroux added a goal late in the third period to make it 5-3. This allowed the Flyers to get Elliot off for an extra attacker.

Former Flyers’ prospect Cole Bardreau got his first NHL point. Mat Barzal and Anders Lee each had one goal and one assist for the Islanders.

Chris Stewart dropped the mitts with Ross Johnston of the Islanders in the first trying to spark momentum.

The Flyers head to Pittsburgh for a game on Tuesday.
