The Flyers dropped a shootout to the New York Islanders to close out a Friday-Saturday back to back.
Heading into the third period with a 3-0 lead, the Flyers fatigue may have caught up to them as they surrendered three straight goals to the Islanders before losing the shootout.
Sean Couturier started things off with a pretty goal less than 100 seconds into the game off a feed from Oskar Lindblom. With fewer than 30 seconds left Ivan Provorov blasted a slapshot into the net to make it 2-0.
Midway through the second, it was a snap snot from Lindblom to make it 3-0.
The game was full of good bounces for the Flyers in the first 2 periods as Elliott had two misplays in front early in the first period luckily not lead to goals against. The Flyers were trounced in puck possession in the second before surrendering the lead in the third.
Getting only one of 4 points against the Sens and Islanders is a bittersweet end to the 7 game point streak the Flyers rode into the latter part of the week.
They head to Florida to face the Panthers on Tuesday next.
