In 3 years in the NHL, Provorov has yet to miss a regular season game. He’s logged big minutes and despite a down year, should still be a big minutes eater going forward.
With offensive weapons like Travis Sanheim and Shayne Gostisbehere and Phil Myers, it’s likely that Provorov won’t see his offensive numbers jump back to the 17 goal output from 17-18. That is not a knock on Provorov, he’s going to be the big shutdown guy the Flyers need.
His role is either to be a solid 2 or the best 3 of the starting six defenders, and that is something he will live up to.
