Vernon Fiddler scored with just over six minutes remaining to give Dallas a 2-1 victory over the Flyers.

Brett Ritchie also scored for Dallas. Curtis McKenzie, Jordie Benn, Colton Sceviour, and Ryan Garbutt all recorded assists. Kari Lehtonen was stellar in goal for the Stars, stopping 25/26 Flyer shots.

Luke Schenn scored his third goal of the season with assists from Carlo Colaiacovo and Jakub Voracek. Steve Mason attempted to keep Philadelphia in the game, saving 37/39 shots. The Flyers, after a Bruins win, are now nine points out of the playoffs.

Schenn’s goal came just 1:13 in the first period, as the Flyers appeared to ┬áplay with fire in their bellies. That fire was quickly extinguished, as the team went belly up for the rest of the game.

Dallas tied the game at the 11:23 mark of the first period, and continued to attack Philadelphia, who played with lackadaisical effort.

The second period continued to provide little effort, as the Orange and Black fired off just seven shots on net.

That trend would continue into the third, as Philadelphia registered just five shots.

The Stars eventually took the lead, and game on a beautiful cross-ice feed from Sceviour to Fiddler, who beat Mason and end the night for the Flyers.
