For Brink, he’s committed to the University of Denver and will likely need two years there to develop before turning pro. He doesn’t turn 18 until next month, making him one of the younger players who was picked today. This pick compares to Oskar Lindblom five years ago in that regard. By taking a chance on a younger player, the Flyers are hoping that when he catches up in terms of the age curve, he’s far better than his talent.

Once again, with most USHL prospects, there’s no direct line to the NHL to project him, so it would take a lot of guesswork to say now where he could project. It’s a good pick to keep the pipeline stocked going forward.

The Flyers gave up pick 45 (acquired during round 1 from Arizona with pick 14 for pick 11) and pick 65 for the selection.
