The boys in blue take on league-leading LAFC in another real test Saturday night in Chester.
The second-place Philadelphia Union (15-6-8, 51 points) take on the Supporters Shield favorite LAFC (19-6-4, 63 points) in a match that features a potential MLS Cup matchup.
In their last league matches, the Union beat Atlanta United FC 3-1. LAFC was without Vela and split the points with Orlando City, 1-1. The two sides will meet for the only time this year on Saturday.
The Union are completely healthy (welcome back Warren Creavalle and Matt Freese) and have everyone ready for selection, getting captain Alejandro Bedoya back from his match suspension for yellow card accumulation. For visiting LAFC, likely league MVP and forward Carlos Vela has missed the last two matches but will be available for selection on Saturday. LAFC gaffer Bob Bradley could have played it safe and left people home, but I think he wants to test his team against one of the best in the East just in case they see each other again in the end.
This is a tough one, at home, but against the best team in the league and maybe in league history. My heart says win, but my head says…
LAFC 2 – Union 1
