Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams has announced that no charges will be filed against Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor in connection with the incident in June at Cheerleaders Gentlemen’s Club due to insufficient evidence.
The brief statement provides no answers as to what may have happened on the afternoon of June 2nd that culminated in a 27 year old exotic dancer accusing Agholor of rape. The DA’s office only declares that the incident was “thoroughly investigated” and that his staff determined they “lacked sufficient evidence to bring charges against Mr. Agholor.”
The statement posted on the District Attorney’s website Monday evening states:
The District Attorney’s Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit and detectives from the Philadelphia Police Department’s Special Victims Unit thoroughly investigated the allegations of sexual assault against Nelson Agholor. As a result of this joint investigation, our staff and the Police reached the conclusion that we lacked sufficient evidence to bring charges against Mr. Agholor, therefore no charges will be filed.
