Phillies dominated by Braves in 12-2 loss

Our Philadelphia Phillies (70-88) continued to falter down to the stretch as they fell to the Atlanta Braves (65-92) by the score of 12-2 at Turner Field on Wednesday night.

The Phillies have now given up an astounding 63 runs over their past six games while dropping five out of those six contests.

Not much to write about on the offensive side for this one– only four hits on the game for the Phillies as Braves’ starter Mike Foltynewicz cruised to an easy win.

Ryan Howard notched the only RBI for the Phils with a groundout in the 6th, and no one on our roster finished the game with more than a single hit.

Phillies’ starter Adam Morgan got knocked around yet again, allowing nine earned runs over five innings for his 11th loss of the season.

Next Up:

It’s the final road game of the year for the Phillies on Thursday night as they look to avoid the sweep in Atlanta. Jeremy Hellickson (12-10, 3.78 ERA) will make the final start of his very impressive season for the good guys. He’ll be opposed by Atlanta’s Josh Collmenter (3-0, 4.19 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m.

Special Thanks:

This will be both my last post of the season for the Phillies and my last post on this website. Want to send a shoutout to Mike Elser providing me the opportunity to write about my favorite sports team in the world, and to Brett Krasnov for holding things down during the week this year with me and providing great content from a truly passionate phan.

Thanks so much to Ali Van Norden and Seamus Killeen as well for your consistently great weekend content!

There are so many talented people associated with this website and I wish you all the best in the future =)
