Sixers send JaKarr Sampson to the Delaware 87ers

With players coming back from injury, it seems the Sixers have an abundance of bodies at the small forward position. None that are any good at playing basketball, but bodies nonetheless. As a result, the Sixers have sent their first player to the horribly named Delaware 87ers, JaKarr Sampson.

Sampson played in nine games with the Sixers this season so far, two of them as a starter, where he has averaged 11.2 minutes of playing time. In those nine games he has averaged a stunning 2 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game.

Welcome to the 87ers. Enjoy your stay.

Thank you Howard Eskin for being you

If you have lived in Philadelphia long enough and love sports, then you know Howard Eskin is something we just tolerate and deal with, kind of like Tony Luke’s. He loves noting more than making himself the center of attention and he seemed to succeed last Wednesday when the Sixers faced off against the Boston Celtics at the Wells Fargo Center.

There he wore what appeared to be a custom-made Sam Hinkie tanking t-shirt. It really needs to be seen to be believed. (Thanks to John Gonzalez for saving this moment for posterity).

Having it tucked is just the icing on the cake.

Ellen gives a shout-out to Michael Carter-Williams

Last week we talked about how MCW recently wrote that he watches the Ellen Degeneres Show to help him deal with the frustrations related to losing so many games.

“For me, it’s all about Ellen. I just think she’s awesome. So every weekday at 4 p.m., my stepfather and I pause the basketball talk, grab some snacks, and watch The Ellen Degeneres Show.”

Well, apparently Degeneres heard about what MCW wrote because on Wednesday she talked about Carter-Williams and the Sixers on her show and told them that she has their back.

No, it didn’t help the Sixers win a game, but it sure is nicer than hearing Jimmy Fallon make fun of you on The Tonight Show.

And now we give you your weekly dose of the best part of the Philadelphia 76ers this season, the Sixers Dancers.

See you next week.
